Welcome to our Family Breaks Programme for Summer 2010!
Check out just some of the Family Friendly things to do here at the Abbey Court Hotel:
- Our Trinity Leisure Centre including Kiddies Pool, Spa Pool, Sauna and Steam Room, Aqua Aerobic classes, Private and Group Swimming Lession, Personal Training & Sports Injuries Clinic (Sport Injury Massage, Assessments & Personal Treatments) are all available inhouse for Residents! Our Leisure Centre also has a late evening for kids on Wednesdays until 8pm and a kid’s hour every Saturday from 12 noon to 1pm!
- Our Rugrats Kids Club open from 12 July to 27 August, Monday, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat from 4pm-9pm each evening. Activities in the Kids Club include Swimming from 4.15 to 5.15, Dinner Time 5.30-6pm, Colouring And Painting 6.30-7-15pm. Board Game & Puzzles, Table Quiz, Arts & Crafts, Video Time, Free Play and Outdoor Play!
- Need a break after all that? Check out our relexology treatment in the Solitude Spa which works on the feet, to help heal spirit, mind and body or perhaps avail or one of our massage ranging from Swedish, Indian head massage to full body massage.
Local attractions to the Abbey Court include:
- Day Cruises on Lough Derg: There are several Lake Bus operations on Lough Derg. Cruise from Garrykennedy, Dromineer and Killaloe to nearby harbour villages. Cruise from Mountshannon to Holy Island, site of a 7th century monastic settlement.
- Pony Trekking: Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre is based at Rusheen, Borrisoleigh, just 25 minutes from Nenagh, provide pony rides through the mountains.At Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre you will experience some of the best off-road horse trekking that Europe has to offer. We have unrestricted access to hundreds of acres of unspoiled mountain pastures, with panoramic views and fabulous wildlife. Treks can be tailored to your requirements and vary from a steady amble though the countryside to fast rides with exhilarating gallops and natural jumps. They can be anything from one to seven hours or longer. All treks are guided and trekkers are assessed before setting out.
- Golf-Nenagh Golf Club, Beechwood, Nenagh, Tipperary: Located 4 miles NE of Nenagh town, well signposted Established 1929 The course is set on free draining soil making it playable all year round. Requirements: Handicap certificate required and Membership of another club required. Hire facilities: Club hire and Trolley hire. Practice ground: Extensive 20-acre practice ground. - Riverdale Pitch and Putt Course Nenagh: Located on the old Birr road Nenagh (a half mile from the Town Centre). Clubhouse opened from 2.00pm to 9.00pm . An 18 Hole Championship Pitch and Putt Course in a Natural Parkland setting with the Nenagh River on one side flowing down to the Shannon. Riverdale caters for everybody from the novice to the enthusiast. Clubs available for rent. Suitable for every age range and from the regular local to the visiting tourist.
